April Ross Blogs about...The Off-season, Beijing Olympics, Parties +Enjoying POM!

Hey Volleyball fans, earlier this week, volleyball Super-Star April Ross shot us another installment with a really GREAT << picture, for the POM Blog! It's a must read for all April Ross / Volleyball fans.

Off season is wonderful. It took me about two weeks to readjust to the Pacific time zone after I finished the season in Thailand...

Pomegranates: Healthy Holiday Harbinger

On The Early Show today, cookbook author and cooking teacher Tori Ritchie shared some delicious pomegranate recipes with show co-anchor Hannah Storm, at the flagship store in Manhattan of specialty home furnishings retailer and Early Show partner Williams-Sonoma. Ritchie showed both sweet and savory ways to incorporate the fruit in dishes and in sensational drinks.

Ritchie also revealed her favorite way of opening and deseeding a pomegranate. And,  it just so  happens to be....our favorite method as well! Check out the Photo illustration on the POM website!

They also mentioned, over the course of the last five years, the popularity and sales of pomegranate juice has soared because of the fruits healthy benefits. They are correct, but remember...not all pomegranates are created equal!  When you want to feel wonderful, think wonderful...POM Wonderful. On the morning edition of The Today Show,  Joy Bauer -the shows nutritionist, boosted about the power of the pomegranate on a segment called "Eight Foods You Should Be Eating".  Joy described pomegranates as "Delicious & Scrumptious!" But we all knew that!

Living Healthy with Martha Stewart

Today on the Martha Stewart show, Dr. Brent Ridge presented "Five things people can do to extend their lives". Once he reached the importance of managing a healthy diet, he held up a pomegranate to represent healthy eating. Perfect!

Dr. Ridge is not the only physician turning to the power of the pomegranate for it's incredibly healthy and unique antioxidants. Which pomegranates...the "Wonderful" variety from POM of course!

To further promote the healthy living Dr. Ridge talked about, Martha Stewart gave a gift basket of healthy goodies to every member of the audience! The basket included a bottle of POM Wonderful Pomegranate Juice and fresh pomegranate. During the segment, Martha Stewart held up the bottle of POM Wonderful and said...   "This is wonderful!" "I drink this almost every single day"

Dr. Ridge and Martha Stewart also enjoyed POM Wonderful earlier in the week at the ribbon cutting ceremony and reception for "The Martha Stewart Center for Living" at Mt. Sinai, a new site for the outpatient clinical practice of geriatric medicine. The project was spearheaded by Dr. Ridge, of Mt. Sinai Medical Center and funded in part by Martha Stewart, who announced (on her Mothers 91st birthday) she would donate 5 Million dollars to the project, and dedicate it to her Mother, Martha Kostyra. Now that's "Wonderful"

What a Pair...of POM POMs

Beverly Hills, Ca Sept 29th. POM Wonderful served up our refreshing POM Tea at the "What A Pair" Food and Wine Fund raiser. 

What A Pair is an L.A. based charity that puts on concerts and fund raisers to benefit the John Wayne Cancer Institute.  Actress Joely Fisher and What A Pair producer Ruth Stalford, pictured above with the hits of the night, POM Tea and Oliver, a ten week-old maltipoo. Joely, Ruth and Oliver were just 3 of the 200 +V.I.P guests to attend this great event. Keep up the great work What A Pair!!!

The menu featured a great pair of POM's! Our famous Pomegranate Peach Passion White Tea and the new LIGHT Wild Berry White Tea, along with various other (delicous) food and wine vendors.
