I noticed that the bottom of the container shows a #7 along with #1. Isn't #7 the 'bad'one?

Great question! Our plastic bottles do NOT contain Bisphenol-A (BPA) They are made from Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and carry the PET1 recycle symbol. Our plastic bottles have been determined by the Food and Drug Administration to be safe for food and food storage. This is after rigorous testing over the last 20 yrs.

We take great pride in growing, hand-harvesting and pressing our very-own pomegranates, to make our POM Wonderful juice so we feel our bottles have to be deserving of such greatness! We didn't take the design / production process of our iconic bottles lightly.

A recent study on plastics showed that there is some health concerns about exposure to polycarbonates/ bisphenol-a in plastic bottles. Does POM use plastic bottles which contain these chemicals? IF POM does maybe a switch to glass or a bisphenol-a free plastic bottle would enhance the health traits of the POM products. I love POM pomergrate juice and drink it daily.
